- MENU SPECIFICATION via CHOOSE
-
- CHOOSE menu text either originates on the CHOOSE command line, or in a
- file whose name is specified on the command line.
-
- CHOOSE *** MAIN MENU ***^Windows^WordPerfect^Backup
-
- Note that the CHOOSE command contained title text (*** MAIN MENU ***)
- terminated by a carat (^) which is followed by the text of three menu
- selections separated by carats. Up to 17 menu selections may be used.
-
- A DOS command line is limited to about 125 characters which limits the
- size of the CHOOSE menu that may be presented directly from a command
- line. When a CHOOSE menu exceeds the command line capacity, simply
- place the menu text in a file and specify the file name on the command
- line.
-
- CHOOSE menus are displayed centered, overlaying any screen text. That
- is, CHOOSE does not clear the screen before constructing a menu. When
- a selection is made, CHOOSE restores the overlayed display text before
- exiting to DOS. Therefore, use CLS (before CHOOSE) when you prefer a
- blank menu background.
